Koregaon Park, Viman Nagar, Kothrud, Deccan, Hinjewadi, FC Road are where the density of students and young professionals is highest in Pune, and where most first meetings actually happen.

• Koregaon Park: Leafy old-money neighborhood laid out in the 1920s on land auctioned to merchants and princely families, now home to the Osho International Meditation Resort and the Lane 6/Lane 7 strip of bars and restaurants that anchors much of the city's nightlife.
• Viman Nagar: A newer residential-commercial pocket next to Pune airport, built up around the Phoenix Marketcity mall and home to Symbiosis Law School's campus.
• Kothrud: A dense, fast-grown residential suburb along Karve Road that houses MIT-WPU and several engineering colleges alongside offices for Cognizant, Persistent Systems and Tech Mahindra.

• FC Road: Fergusson College Road's stretch of century-old Irani cafes (Cafe Goodluck, since 1935) and canteens (Vaishali) has fed generations of students from the colleges lining it.
• Lavale: A hilltop village on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Mulshi taluka, on the city's western outskirts, where Symbiosis International University's main campus and FLAME University's residential campus sit a few kilometres apart from each other.

For casual meetups, FC Road's cafes (Vaishali, Cafe Goodluck) and Koregaon Park's Lane 6/7 are the default choices, and both are now reachable via the Aqua Line metro through Deccan Gymkhana.

Getting around

Pune Metro's Purple Line (PCMC-Swargate) and Aqua Line (Vanaz-Ramwadi) have run since March 2022, with the Aqua Line passing through Deccan Gymkhana near the FC Road college cluster and the Purple Line through Shivajinagar; a Pink Line extension linking Hinjewadi's IT park to Shivajinagar began operations in 2026. Outside the metro corridors, PMPML buses and autorickshaws remain the default for most student and commuter trips.
