IIM Raipur is a 2010 IIM on a 203-acre campus in Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh's planned new capital, where a small single-section batch runs everything from the Karmaanta fest to TEDx on its own.

The story of IIM Raipur

IIM Raipur was established by the Government of India and inaugurated on 11 October 2010 by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh. Like most new IIMs, it began without a home, sharing the Government Engineering College campus at Sejbahar, Raipur, which also hosted IIT Bhilai in its early years.

Around 2018 the institute moved to its permanent campus in Atal Nagar, Naya Raipur, a 203-acre site planned to blend modern architecture with Chhattisgarh's culture and traditions, with radiant cooling in the hostels.

Today IIM Raipur runs a two-year PGP, an executive PGP, a Fellow Programme in Management and executive programmes. NIRF ranked it 14th among management schools in 2022.

What the campus is like socially

Batches are small, around 150 students in a section, so you attend every class with the same classmates and the bonds get strong fast. Induction is famously intense, with seemingly impossible assignments and sacrosanct deadlines, and that shared pressure becomes the batch's first story.

Everything on campus is student-run, from clubs and committees to big events like the HR Summit and TEDx. Naya Raipur is a planned capital still filling in, which means few distractions and a campus that becomes your entire social life.
