CAT Study Group in Pune
Pune's CAT study groups tend to form in two places: around FC Road and Deccan for students, and near Hinjewadi, Wakad and Kharadi for working professionals.
How people prep for this today
FC Road is the old centre of gravity. IMS sits opposite Fergusson College, Career Launcher is on FC Road in Shivajinagar, and T.I.M.E. is on Apte Road in Deccan. Further out, IMS runs centres in Kothrud near Anand Nagar metro, Aundh, Hinjewadi, Magarpatta and Pimpri, T.I.M.E. is in Kothrud, Wakad and Kharadi, and Career Launcher covers Wakad, Kharadi and PCMC.
Pune also has a dense network of paid study rooms, around 750 by one count, concentrated in Narayan, Sadashiv, Navi and Shaniwar Peth, Kothrud and Dandekar Bridge, built mostly for the city's large UPSC and MPSC crowd. In December 2025 the municipal corporation moved against unauthorised study rooms and hostels, so check that any room you book is legal, above ground and has clear exits.
Working-professional aspirants live a different week. Commutes to Hinjewadi can stretch badly in the monsoon, so evening prep starts late and weekends carry the full mock and analysis. Pods here tend to cluster by corridor, west for Hinjewadi and Wakad, east for Kharadi and Magarpatta, rather than mixing across the city.
Many Pune aspirants also sit SNAP for the Symbiosis institutes alongside CAT, so pods often share a quant and DILR core and split for exam-specific drills. After a weekend mock, the analysis frequently moves to a cheap breakfast spot on FC Road, where an hour over one plate is not unusual.
Why finding the right peer is hard
Pune has plenty of serious aspirants, but its student and working crowds rarely overlap, and coaching batch groups do not sort people by percentile or by which side of the city they live on. A Hinjewadi engineer and a Deccan final-year may both want a disciplined three-person pod and never meet. Study rooms solve the desk problem but not the people problem: everyone there is in their own silence.
How Zyber fits
Zyber can help you find a few verified CAT aspirants in Pune near you and at a similar mock percentile, so a small pod can share mock analysis and keep each other consistent through the final months. It is a peer-matching layer, not a coaching program or study room, and it makes no claim about your percentile or calls.
Campuses where this crowd is deep
A few campuses have enough serious people prepping that finding a matched partner is realistic:
- Fergusson College sits right on FC Road, across from one of the city's main CAT coaching centres, so final-year pods can form between lectures.
- BMCC is a big commerce college in the Deccan area where CAT is a common next step and study partners are easy to spot.
- Symbiosis Pune admits to its MBA institutes through SNAP, which many Pune aspirants prepare for alongside CAT.
