The story of National Law University Delhi
NLU Delhi was established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 of the NCT of Delhi and inaugurated by President Pratibha Patil. Its founding Vice-Chancellor was Ranbir Singh, and the campus was fully functional by 2010.
The library is named after T.P.S. Chawla, a former judge of the Delhi High Court. The university has built 13 research centres, including Project 39A, named after the constitutional promise of equal justice and free legal aid, and centres on environmental law, IP and competition, and child rights.
