Prep
CA Study Group
CA students spend months alone with recorded lectures and ICAI study material, which is why a study group with someone on the same attempt changes how the last stretch feels.
How people prep for this today
ICAI now holds CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final three times a year, around January, May and September, so there is almost always an attempt a few months away. Under the new scheme, articleship is two years of practical training, which means Final prep usually overlaps with work at a CA firm, audit season and client deadlines.
Most teaching has moved to recorded lectures and online batches, alongside offline coaching hubs like Delhi's Laxmi Nagar. Students lean on ICAI study material, RTPs and MTPs, and on Telegram groups that circulate notes, question banks and suggested answers.
A CA study group is usually two to four people on the same attempt: splitting the revision of a heavy paper, doing timed MTPs together, checking each other's working notes and journal entries, and keeping each other going through the stretch where articleship and study leave collide. The vocabulary is very CA: attempt, group one and group two, exemption, RTP, MTP, study leave, the self-paced modules.
Why finding the right peer is hard
Recorded lectures are flexible, which also makes them isolating. Articleship scatters students across firms, and the person sitting next to you at work is often on a different attempt or level. Pass rates are low enough that many students write more than once, and each new attempt can mean rebuilding a study circle after earlier partners pass or move on.
How Zyber fits
Zyber can help CA students find verified peers nearby on the same attempt and level, at a nearby firm, college or library, for split revision, timed MTP sessions and daily check-ins during study leave. It does not replace ICAI material or any coaching class, and it makes no claim about your marks, exemptions or pass rate. It only helps you find a real person to study alongside.
Campuses where this crowd is deep
A few campuses have enough serious people prepping that finding a matched partner is realistic:
- Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi has many students pursuing CA alongside their B.Com, often juggling Inter attempts with college exams.
- HR College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai has a commerce student body where CA Foundation and Inter prep is a common parallel track.
- St. Xavier's College Kolkata has a large commerce cohort in a city with a long chartered accountancy tradition and plenty of articleship firms.

FAQ: CA Study Group
How do I find a CA study group?+
Start with classmates or articleship colleagues on the same attempt, then keep the group small, two to four people. Zyber can help you find verified CA students nearby on the same level and attempt.
Are CA Telegram groups useful?+
They are handy for notes, RTPs, MTPs and question banks. They are less useful for steady accountability, which needs a small group that actually checks in.
How many times a year are CA exams held?+
ICAI now conducts CA Foundation, Intermediate and Final three times a year, around January, May and September. Check icai.org for the exact schedule of your attempt.
How do I study for CA Final during articleship?+
Most students use short daily sessions during articleship and then study leave before the attempt. A partner on the same attempt makes it easier to keep that daily habit going through busy months at the firm.
Is group study good for CA?+
It works well for revision, timed MTPs and testing each other on concepts, as long as the group is small and on the same attempt. Initial learning is usually better done alone.
Does Zyber help me pass CA?+
Zyber makes no claim about your marks or pass. It only helps you find verified peers nearby to study with.
